Columns are equipped with support grids or plates to hold the random packing. The grids or plates must be designed to meet the requirements of a low pressure drop and minimum liquid hold-up. Zhonghao's profiled support grids, made of plastic, are suitable for use in columns with a minimum diameter of 300 mm. They consist of trapezoidal elements, which are assembled to provide the support. The installation is carried out through an inspectional opening with a minimum size of DN 500.
